Gallo Construction is a knowledgeable heavy civil contractor. We have experience in all types of heavy civil construction, including construction of water filtration plants, wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, pipelines, culverts, and dams. In addition to these project types, Gallo Construction also has completed heavy civil structural rehabilitation projects, including structural steel repairs, structural concrete repairs, performance coatings applications at treatment plants, parking garages, bridges, and more.
Cast-In-Place Concrete
Gallo Construction self-performs cast-in-place concrete including footings, foundation walls, and slabs using our skilled carpenters to install the formwork, our skilled ironworkers to tie the rebar, and our skilled masons to place the concrete. By performing the foundation work in-house this allows us to make sure our buildings are being installed at the correct elevations, dimensionally correct and square.
Sitework and Utilities
We have years of experience self-performing sitework projects, including new developments requiring site grading, cuts and fills, and mass excavation. Gallo works with our talented network of subcontractors to provide asphalt, curbing, sidewalks, landscaping and more. We also have decades of self-perform experience completing utility projects including in-street pipe replacements for water main, force main, gravity sewer, and storm sewer.
Process Mechanical Piping & Equipment
Gallo Construction completes projects in pump stations, water treatment plants, and wastewater treatment plants requiring self-performed process piping and process mechanical equipment. Gallo tradesmen have completed installation of flanged and grooved ductile iron piping, sweat copper piping, welded stainless steel aeration piping, glued PVC chemical feed piping, and more. Gallo has experience working with qualified millwrights for the installation of blowers, pumps, clarifiers, aeration diffuser grids, screw pumps, slide gates, stop plates, weirs, baffles, channel grinders, packaged systems, mixers, and more.
Structural Rehabilitation
Gallo Construction has completed structural rehabilitation projects, including renovating parking garages, water/wastewater treatment plant buildings, concrete process tanks for aeration or clarification, and water storage tanks. These projects consist of concrete spall repair, epoxy or polyurethane crack injection, structural steel repairs including welding and beam replacements, complex shoring and scaffolding, masonry tuckpointing and CMU block replacement, and high-performance coatings including traffic deck membranes, manhole and tank liners, and high strength epoxy coatings,. Gallo has the ability to self-perform some scopes in house and otherwise works with qualified subcontracted ironworkers, masons, carpenters and painters.
Deep Excavation and Shoring
Gallo has completed complex excavation and shoring projects including, bridge repairs and replacements, culvert replacements, and wetwork including lock and dam construction. We review geotechnical reports, dig test pits and evaluate existing conditions to determine the best means and methods for completing complex excavation projects. We then work with our talented network of subcontractors for the installation of H piles and sheet piles, or utilize our own Gallo workforce and operators for the installation of slide rails or other box shoring. Gallo Construction has experience working on projects requiring steel piles, sheet piles, directional drilling, dredging, and significant bypass pumping both for culverts and for treatment plants requiring sewage bypass.
